DAVID CAIRNS' work in journalism has spanned a number of high profile newspapers and magazines. He was chief music critic of the Sunday Times from 1983 to 1992, having earlier been music critic and arts editor of The Spectator. Other publications for which he has been a music critic include the Evening Standard, Financial Times and New Statesman. As author of two books on Belioz he is the winner of many important literary awards. TULLY POTTER recently completed, after thirty years, the first-ever full-length biography of the German violinist and composer Adolf Busch (1891-1952), 'he Life of an Honest Musician' Leader of the legendary Busch Quartet, Adolf Busch was for many the finest violinist of his day.
